Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is doing well and has started the year off doing well and maybe with a goal in mind of something you would like to accomplish this year.
Spring semester is here, and I am taking six classes. This is going to be a busy semester. At first, it is always a bit overwhelming because since I am taking online classes, almost every instructor has their way of how they assigned assignments. For example, for one of my ITEC classes, the instructor will assign the reading, homework, and quiz/test on D2L which is a cloud bases software used by the school. Other instructors use Cengage to assign the reading, homework, and quiz/test. Then some instructors use a combination of both. Therefore, I always have the class syllabus with me whenever I am working on what is due for that week to make sure I don’t miss anything.
Since all my classes require me to turn in some form of work by Wednesday (usually in the form of a discussion post), for me to be able to contribute to that discussion I would have to read all the chapters that have been assigned by Tuesday night. These are very long chapters and they usually come with some sort of exercise instruction that I must follow to better understand the material. Therefore, I had to develop a schedule where I try to get all the work done for three of my classes on Monday and the other three classes done on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday, I will have my zoom class and I will be able to post my discussion to be able to participate in class. Then Thursday and Friday, I work on anything that I might be missing for that class. On Saturday I make sure that everything is ready to be turned in and then turn it in. I also answer to other classmates’ posts on Saturday to give them enough time to post something of their own. Then Sunday, I try to make it a review day for that week.
I am stressed at the begging of the week due to having to complete most of my classes early in the week. But once Wednesday comes along, I know that I will be to take things easier. Everything seems to be going well so far. I must stick to the schedule that I have made for myself and not get distracted too much.
